A visit to the Good Samaritan Hospital Emergency Department was a life-saving one for the Riley family. Margaret Riley’s husband, Rob, was unaware that he had a life threatening urological infection when first admitted to the intensive care unit. Fortunately, the urologist who saw him that night was Marc A. Schumer, MD. There were difficult decisions to be made in the intensive care unit. Dr. Schumer actually listened to, and addressed our concerns. He was respectful to our family’s wishes says Margaret Riley.
On subsequent visits to the emergency room, Mrs. Riley was always reassured when she saw Dr. Schumer. Fortunately, Mr. Riley made a full recovery. “It seemed that Dr. Schumer was always there when we needed him” said Mrs. Reilly. Mrs. Riley was so thankful for the treatment received by Dr. Schumer that she nominated him as “Physician of the Quarter.'”
