Mr. Joseph Heimbauer graduated magna cum laude from Adelphi University, Garden City, New York. He earned his medical degree magna cum laude from Touro College. Upon graduation Mr. Heimbauer joined the faculty practice at NYU Winthrop University Hospital, where he ran the in-patient urology service as the chief urology PA. He later joined the private practice formerly known as UroCare Associates of New York which eventually became one of the original founding practices of Integrated Medical Professionals. While working at NYU Winthrop, in addition to his urological training, he was trained in emergency medicine, general surgery, cardiology and plastic surgery at NYU Winthrop, Mineola, Southside Hospital, Bay Shore and Mercy Medical Center, Rockville Center.
In addition to his vast experience in all areas of urology, Mr. Heimbauer has focused on bladder health when he founded a national mobile urodynamic company and has participated in many national clinical trials involving complex urodynamics.
Mr. Heimbauer has channeled his passion for holistic and natural health, including naturopathy, homeopathy, Ayurveda, and herbalism, along with his extensive knowledge of nutrition into providing alternative wellness options and anti-cancer strategies for his patients.
He is an ambassador to the physician assistant profession nationwide serving as a mentor to students who wish to explore the PA profession seeking admission to physician assistant medical school.
He continues to lecture regularly on various urologic diseases, nutrition and cancer prevention and is a consultant to several pharmaceutical and medical equipment manufacturers. Mr. Joseph Heimbauer is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
