Dr. Alexander Epelbaum is a distinguished urologist with a comprehensive educational background, having graduated from New York University and earned his medical degree from New York University School of Medicine. He completed his urology residency at SUNY Downstate, which included an acting fellowship in urologic oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
Dr. Epelbaum has contributed to the field through numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals and has presented his research at both national and regional conferences. His expertise has earned him recognition as a Castle Connolly Top Doctor since 2018, as well as being named in Newsday’s Top Doctors on Long Island and featured in the Top Doctors New York Metro Area digital guide during the same period. In 2021, he was also listed in New York Magazine’s Top Doctors.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Epelbaum is actively involved in leadership within the medical community. He currently serves on the Board of Advanced Urology Centers of New York and has held several prominent positions, including a role on the Board of the American Urological Association New York Section and as President of the Medical Staff at St. Catherine of Siena Hospital.
Dr. Epelbaum practices general urology with a focus on benign prostate diseases, urinary incontinence, kidney stones, and urologic malignancies, emphasizing innovative, minimally invasive surgical procedures to enhance patient outcomes.
